Bookstore Events - June 13, 2026

The club will be meeting on June 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time via Zoom.

The speaker will begin at 10:00 AM PT.

Want to host a bookstore event that readers actually show up for?

Join author Julia Vee for a practical behind-the-scenes look at how bookstore events really come together. Drawing on lessons learned while organizing the Traveling SFF Book Festival with Yume Kitasei, Julia shares what works, what doesn’t, and how authors can partner effectively with bookstores to create engaging events that benefit everyone.

In this session, you’ll learn how to approach bookstores professionally, collaborate with other authors to build stronger events, and create programming that draws readers through the door.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Julia was a trial lawyer in Silicon Valley for over two decades. She still makes stuff up for a living. She attended U.C Berkeley and majored in Asian Studies. A graduate of Viable Paradise, she often writes with co-author Ken Bebelle. They have penned over 10 novels together. Their novel Ebony Gate was named a 2023 Golden Poppy Finalist for the Octavia E. Butler award.
